If the companies at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week got their way, our bodies would be draped in technology. Besides the heaps of new fitness tracking bracelets and smartwatches, there’s a lapel clip that vibrates when you slouch, jewelry that lights up when your phone rings and more glasses that display information in front of your eyes. While it seems like many of these companies are just playing gadget dress-up, the latest crop of wearables makes smarter use of where they land on your body. You’re only going to find a display on your wrist or your glasses, but sensors that collect data about your body are more useful on your arm, torso, waist or feet.
