3D Printers Help Museums Give Mummies New Life
(BlouinArtInfo) New perspectives on Egyptian mummies are being provided by 3D printers at the National Museum of Brazil. The technology can reveal the contents of ancient coffins to 21st century researchers by creating exact replicas of what’s inside. Jorge Lopes, 3D image scientist at the National Museum of Brazil in Rio explained, ”You can do a 3D print of the skeleton, the mummy within the casket without having to handle the original object.”
