Ruminating… such an interesting word – and one that can take years off your life. But Guy has a simple technique to clear your mind – distract yourself for two minutes and the addictive obsessing will pass.

Know thyself… Obsessing lowers self-esteem – so KNOW your BUTTONS.  When they get pushed, RESIST THE URGE TO OBSESS… have a pre-arranged, mental distraction plan.  Treat yourself as your best friend would – be compassionate, and revive your self-esteem

Loneliness is another killer… Lonely people are 14% more likely to die early – just like smokers…

I just had a session with a Mind-Body therapist, Dr Michael Roth, and it’s amazing what mental health does for your physical health… My back bounced back, and I found my smile 🙂  http://www.rothwellnesscenter.com

Psychologist, author
Guy Winch asks us to take our emotional health as seriously as we take our physical health — and explores how to heal from common heartaches.

We’ll go to the doctor when we feel flu-ish or a nagging pain. So why don’t we see a health professional when we feel emotional pain: guilt, loss, loneliness? Too many of us deal with common psychological-health issues on our own, says Guy Winch. But we don’t have to. He makes a compelling case to practice emotional hygiene — taking care of our emotions, our minds, with the same diligence we take care of our bodies.
